Tolga Caglar | Industrial Designer

His journey began with a solid foundation in design, earning a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design where he completed his degree as Summa cum laude at ODTU in 2008 and later pursuing a master’s degree in interdisciplinary design, again completing his degree as Head of Class at College for Creative Studies, Michigan between years 2010-2012. This diverse education equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of design principles and their applications across various disciplines.

Driven by his passion for innovation, he embarked on a successful career in industrial design. Since 2017, he has held the prestigious position of Principal Industrial Designer at VITO Design USA, leading the design and development process from conceptualization to production. His responsibilities encompass the entire product lifecycle, from managing 2D ideation and 3D prototyping to design for manufacturing and overseeing production and quality control. This holistic approach reflects his dedication to creating successful products from inception to final execution.

Prior to VITO Design, he honed his skills at Stanley Black & Decker between the years 2012-2017, where he was instrumental in defining and designing the core product line of Global Hand Tools and Storage. He consistently challenged the status quo, proposing forward-thinking concepts and methodologies. His contributions extended beyond design, with involvement in field research and leading new product ideation. This period further solidified his expertise and leadership qualities within the design community.

Furthermore, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of design software, expert level engineering and surface design capabilities in Solidworks CAD, Creo Parametrics, as well as Adobe Creative Suite, allowing him to seamlessly translate design concepts into reality.

His early experiences at TEMSA Global (Truck and Bus manufacturer) and B PLAS Plastic (Tier 1 Automotive Supplier) provided valuable firsthand experience in production processes and supply chain management. This early exposure fostered adaptability and a well-rounded understanding of the complexities involved in bringing a product to market.
